Our Story

Chez Fournier began with a simple memory—the smell of fresh waffles on a Sunday afternoon in Lille, France.

Our founder, Augustin Fournier, was born and raised in the heart of Northern France. He often heard stories of his parents making waffles with their grandparents on rainy Sunday mornings, carrying on a tradition that had been passed down through generations. Those cherished weekends were filled with fresh gaufres—golden and crisp on the outside, soft on the inside.

Those Sundays weren't just about waffles. His grandmother often reminded him, "Les gens du Nord ont dans le cœur le soleil qu'ils n'ont pas dehors"—the people of Northern France carry in their hearts the sunshine they don't have outside. To her, that sunshine was family, laughter, and a warm, golden waffle shared around the table.

Years later, AJ made his home on the New Hampshire seacoast with his wife and two children, bringing those traditions with him. Chez Fournier brings the authentic taste of Northern France straight to your door. Every waffle is handcrafted using our family's recipe, made with real butter, brown sugar, and time-honored techniques.

We're not just making waffles—we're sharing a piece of our family's story, and we hope it becomes part of yours.

Bienvenue chez nous.
